1930 Mens 10k & 22k Natural Gold Nugget Ostby & Barton Eagle Ring

  

DESCRIPTION: Beautiful almost antique Ostby & Barton solid 10k yellow gold band with a natural 22k gold nugget in the center. Fabulous mans ring with detailed patriotic eagle with shield and stars on each side. The OB is for Ostby & Barton. Osby and Barton began around 1879 and produced jewelry into the 1950s.

Ostby & Barton jewelry is quite collectible. Ostby and his daughter would go to Europe frequently to come up with designs. Ostby and his daughter went to France in 1912 and booked a trip back to the US on the Titanic. His daughter made it to a life boat but sadly Mr. This ring is a beautiful example of there work. The ring has a patriotic American eagle and shield with stars on both sides.

The center of the ring has a nice natural gold nugget attached. The nugget is about 22k and is a rich yellow that my pics didn't show. Inside is an inscription initials and the date June 1930. My guesstimate is that the nugget is about 8 grams (give or take). The overall weight of the ring is about 16.1 grams with the dense nugget weighing as much as the band at about 8 grams each.

This is a very handsome example. Almost antique at about 90 years old. Good condition for age with light wear and scratches appropriate for age and use.
